While this app performs simple keyword searches only, that might be all you need to find something interesting. Plus, it display search results--the top 20 returned by OCW Search--in a list . . . and who doesn't like lists? *OCW Search is an independent entity, separate from the OpenCourseWare Consortium (newly renamed the Open Education Consortium). So, it may not be what you would think of as "the real deal," but at least its API works!
